Live Art Auction to support
the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council
The Fuquay-Varina Arts council (FVAC), is planning its 4th annual Benefit Art Auction. Two auctions will be held on June 6th. One a silent auction and the other a live auction. This event registration is for the live auction component.
As of April 1st, the FVAC will accept submissions for consideration in the live auction. Considered items may include any media: oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, ink, mixed media, digital music/art, handcrafted pottery, sculpture, jewelry, metal, or woodcraft. All works must be original, and the Artist warrants that he/she created and possesses unencumbered title to the Artworks, and that their descriptions are true and accurate.
The auction will be held Saturday, June 6th from 2PM-4PM during Celebration of the Arts in downtown Fuquay, and there will be a preview reception the night before (location TBA). We are currently taking applications for consignments of Submitted art which will be juried by the Auction committee. The Auction Committee reserves the right to select the final number of pieces for the show. Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces. There are no registration fees; however, to be considered,you must complete registration and email jpegs of your items to email@example.com. Those participating in the live auction will receive 50% of the proceeds, unless they opt to donate the artwork(s) 100% to the FVAC during registration. The remaining proceeds will go to the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council to support their mission to inspire and enhance the lives of citizens in our community and beyond by developing appreciation of the arts, presenting arts programming and education, supporting local artists, & fostering creativity in the community. When registering, please note that you cannot submit a minimum bid. The bidding will start at the auctioneer and/or the Fuquay-Varina Arts Council's discretion. The FVAC does not guarantee a minimum bid.
The Benefit Art Auction will give artists a chance to increase exposure of their talent to the public and allow their creative works to be enjoyed and appreciated by others in the community.
Please also note that the Artist or a representative of the artist must be present for the auction on June 6, 2015 from 2-4PM. If you cannot be there, please let Kellie know at firstname.lastname@example.org. Arrangements will be made.
